Kirkcaldy celebrating third junior success as U12 side secures league title

Kirkcaldy Redskins secured the Scottish U12 League title with a road victory against Solway Sharks over the weekend.

The result made it a hat-trick of titles for Kirkcaldy’s junior set-up following the recent successes of their U16 and U20 sides.

The U12s have dropped just one point this season and they are hoping to make it a double by winning the Scottish Cup at Fife Ice Arena on Saturday, 21st April.

Head coach Paul Shevlin said: “We are proud of what the kids have achieved this season, not only in winning the league but also the way they’ve improved as players.

“With one more game left in the league we’re hoping to keep our unbeaten streak going and take it into the Scottish Cup Final, where we hope to bring home more silverware.”

Marty Simpson added: “After coaching the kids all season I was gutted not to be at the league winning game, but it has been a successful season.

“We still have some more to play for and I can say that the team have improved a lot from the start of the season.

“As Paul has said we want to keep our unbeaten streak going and we are hoping to take another trophy away from the Scottish Cup Final.”
