Solway Sharks U20 headed over the Irish Sea last week to play Belfast Junior Giants.
The trip was made possible by a grant from the Young People’s Choices Fund.
The young Sharks hit the ice at a fast pace, but Belfast made them work hard, putting up a sterling defence in the face of the visitors’ attack.
Solway eventually got their rewards, with Lewis Houston and Liam Stenton putting them 2-0 in front by the end of the first period.
Luke Houston made it 3-0 in the 25th minute, but Belfast reduced the deficit just two minutes later.
Lewis Houston bagged his second of the night midway through the second session and he completed his hat-trick early in the third.
Belfast scored again in the 44th minute, but Conor Caven’s effort after 49 minutes looked to have ended any hopes of a comeback.
The home side refused to lie down and quickly grabbed a third goal, but Lewis Houston notched his fourth of the game to seal a 7-3 victory.
