Scottish Ice Hockey confirms SNL Play-off Finals Weekend 2018

Scottish Ice Hockey is delighted to confirm details for the SNL Play-off Finals Weekend 2018.

Kirkcaldy’s Fife Ice Arena will host the showpiece event again this year as the final four bid to claim the prestigious trophy.

The quarter-final winners will head to Kirkcaldy over the weekend of Saturday/Sunday 7/8th April to determine this year’s play-off champions.

The line-up is as follows:

  • Saturday 7th April – Semi-final – 4.45pm
  • Saturday 7th April – Semi-final – 7.30pm (approx)
  • Sunday 8th April – Final – 6.00pm

In the event of a draw in the semi-finals the game will go straight to penalty shots to determine a winner.

For the final, in the event of a draw, there will be five minutes of overtime (4-on-4) followed by penalty shots (if necessary) to determine a winner.

Teams must be ready to play no later than the times stated and must be prepared for any timing adjustments as the schedule develops. The trophy will be presented to the winners after the final.

Admission prices (pay-on-the-door) are as follows:

Saturday (access to both semi-finals)

Adults £20 per person, concessions (U16 and OAP) £10 per person. If you return your wristband and leave the arena before the second semi-final you will receive a 50% refund.

Saturday (access to the second semi-final only)

Adults £10 per person, concessions (U16 and OAP) £5 per person.

SIHA Chairman David Hand said: “The SNL Play-off Finals Weekend promises to be an excellent event, with the best four play-off sides battling to win the trophy.

“Last year saw three closely fought games and I expect it to be no different in 2018. We’re grateful to Fife Ice Arena for hosting the play-off finals once again and I hope ice hockey fans from across Scotland head to Kirkcaldy to support the event.

“The SNL Play-off Finals Weekend is the first of two showpiece events taking place during April, as we will be confirming details of the Scottish Cup Finals in the next week or so.”
