Five Scottish junior players took part in the prestigious IIHF Global Girls’ Game at iceSheffield on Saturday.
The event took place across the weekend with matches in 39 countries, starting in New Zealand and ending in Canada.
Katrina Wood, Megan Gourlay, Mirren Foy, Audrey Wood and Sophie Campbell joined up with their teammates from Great Britain Women’s U16 and 18 squads to play in the game.
Team White were coached by Darryl Morvan, with Julie Lossnitzer in charge of Team Blue.
Gourlay put Team White ahead before Amy Robery equalised for Team Blue, assisted by Sophie Halstead.
Team Blue then went ahead through Maddy Remington, assisted by Foy, but Gourlay grabbed her second of the game to equalise for Team White, assisted by Chamonix Jackson.
GB women’s assistant coach, Jayne McClelland, who spent time on both benches during the game, said: “It was great to see the girls involved in a special worldwide event.
“They really enjoyed it and we saw a good game between the two sides.
“We have some great young talent in the programme and they were able to showcase their skills.”
