Kilmarnock Thunder recorded their first ever victory in the SNL with an 8-5 success against Solway Stingrays on Saturday.
Keir Anderson led the way with four goals, with Marcus Murdoch, Dylan Robertson, Ronan McCready and Euan Gallacher also getting on the scoresheet.
Dundee Comets retained their 100% record with a 6-0 victory at North Ayrshire Wild. The Comets have hit double figures in their first three games of the season and would have done so again but for a fine performance by Wild netminder John Russell.
Conor Duncan was the star of the show as Kirkcaldy Kestrels won 12-1 at home to Kilmarnock Storm. Duncan scored four goals and assisted four others as the Kestrels maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Edinburgh Capitals SNL are also still unbeaten after securing a 10-2 win at Dundee Tigers. Dundee’s assistant manager John Robb admitted it had been a tough night.
“We were without four of our regular players from the top two lines and had a few guys out there playing with varying degrees of injury,” he said.
“We ended the game with just nine skaters and while the score doesn’t reflect it the boys played with a huge amount of character. The Capitals are a very good puck moving side and there were times we were chasing shadows and by the third period we ran out of legs.
“We’ve got a break next weekend and hopefully we can get boys fit again, and maybe even recruit a couple of additional bodies ahead of our Scottish Cup double header against the Dundee Comets in a fortnight’s time.”
