Young Sharks smiling after recording their first victory of the season

Solway Sharks Juniors coach Craig Jackson praised the club’s U12s after they picked up their first points of the season against Moray last weekend.

Cassie McGregor was chosen as the player of the game after scoring a hat-trick, but Jackson insisted the victory was down to the team’s collective hard work.

“We got off to a great start and took control of the game pretty early on and didn’t look back,” he said.

“The first period saw us picking up a few goals and creating a lot of opportunities. As the play unfolded we continued to grow and goals started to come from the chances we were creating.

“This game allowed us to get Abileigh Turner and Ben Armstrong their debuts, with both putting in excellent performances.

“It was great for the team to pick up their first points of the year and great to see so many smiling faces in the changing room after the game, showing exactly what the game is about for these young Sharks.”
