SNL preview: Solway and Murrayfield aiming to end the year on a winning note

Solway Sharks return to Scottish National League (SNL) action this weekend aiming to extend their advantage at the top of the standings.

The Sharks host Kirkcaldy Kestrels on Saturday, before travelling to face Dundee Tigers the following day, and will be eager to move further clear of Murrayfield Racers.

Martin Grubb’s side are 14 points ahead of the Racers, although the reigning champions currently have six games in hand.

Solway are scheduled to visit Murrayfield at the end of January for a fixture that could determine the destination of this season’s title.

The Racers play Kilmarnock Thunder on Sunday hoping to book their place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup. The tie will be staged over one leg, with the winners going on to meet Dundee Tigers in the last four.

Murrayfield turn their attentions back to the SNL on Tuesday as they go head-to-head with Dundee Comets.

The two sides have already faced each other four times in two different cup competitions this season, with the Racers winning on each occasion.
