All-conquering Dundee Stars keep rolling with Scottish U14 Cup triumph

Dundee Stars U14s continued their remarkable run of success with an impressive 6-0 victory over Kirkcaldy Chiefs in the final of the Scottish Cup at Fife Ice Arena on Saturday.

Rio Page (pictured below) grabbed a hat-trick and the MVP award for Dundee to help the team claim the trophy.

The Stars currently have ten Scotland players in the squad and seven national players that won the Sheffield tournament two years ago.

Their successes as a group also include winning a tournament at under 8 level at Sheffield without conceding a goal, securing last season’s league and cup double and winning the first ever Coventry tournament without losing a game.

The club’s chairperson, Rab Brown, praised the achievements of the young Stars.

“This team have been so successful because of their own will to win and realising that all must be worked hard for,” he said.

“The parents of this squad have dedicated themselves to helping these boys get to where they are by giving them every spare moment and travelling thousands of miles in the process.

“They are a special group of kids and with some just too old for this squad and some just too young, there is a feeling that they will gel into an even better bunch.”
