Beth Scoon is hoping her exploits with Great Britain Women helps to inspire other girls to target playing for the national side.
The 22-year-old is currently in Slovenia with the GB squad for their World Championship (Division 2A) tournament and she has helped the team record victories in their opening two games.
The Kirkcaldy-born blueliner has made 22 World Championship appearances at senior level and she says she is honoured to be part of the GB set-up.
“As soon as I found out the national team existed, it was my goal to make the team and represent GB,” she said.
“Pulling on the shirt is always an honour. This year I’m very confident in our team’s abilities and I’m really delighted to be playing at the tournament.
“I remember growing up and hearing about Scottish players like Angela Taylor, so it was cool to become her teammate with GB.
“If even one girl hears about me playing for GB and aspires to do the same, then that would be great!”
