Great Britain U18 secured their second successive victory at the World Championship (Division 2A) tournament in Tallinn with a 9-2 win against Australia on Monday.
Kieran Brown had a five-point afternoon with a hat-trick and two assists, while Liam Kirk and Cade Neilson each scored twice.
Australia took the lead in the third minute as Michael Riley broke free and slotted the puck past Lewis Davies.
Moments after shooting just wide, Brown equalised for GB after 14 minutes when he stepped out from behind the net and went top shelf across netminder James Downie.
GB went ahead less than two minutes later as Neilson put away a rebound for a 2-1 first-period lead.
Brown scored his second of the game just 15 seconds into period two on a rebound from Kirk’s shot and then turned provider to set-up Kirk for his first goal of the tournament in the 24th minute.
Kirk didn’t wait long for this second as he slotted home another, while great work from Mason Biddulph freed Neilson for his second after 28 minutes.
Australia qucikly hit back through Kale Costa, before Brown completed his treble in the 34th minute as he raced clear and fired past Downie.
Further goals by Biddulph and Jordan Buesa in the final session capped an impressive performance by GB.
GB return to action on Wednesday when they face Poland (face-off 11.00am UK time).
