SIHA has long recognised the necessity of having effective Disciplinary Rules and Procedures. The mission of the SIHA Disciplinary Rules and Procedures is to provide an informed and balanced interpretation of those rules and regulations which govern discipline within Ice Hockey under the SIHA, and to promote fairness, respect, and equality within the sport. The overriding objective is to secure justice in SIHA disciplinary proceedings and that decisions are made in a fair, consistent, and expeditious manner.
SIHA, The Executive Committee, the Disciplinary Committee and the Appeals Panel will act in good faith and in accordance with the principles of natural justice and within the Rules, and in accordance with the current International Ice Hockey Federation Rule Book, IIHF Case Book, the Coach Manager Code of Conduct and the SIHA in house rules.
