Representatives from Ayrshire (East) Foodbank visited Kilmarnock Junior Ice Hockey Club last week to accept a generous Christmas donation.
Players from across all age groups donated their selection boxes to the foodbank and used the occasion to consider children in Ayrshire who are not as fortunate as they are at this time of year.
The foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in the local area.
They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.
The foodbank is part of a nationwide network, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
