Latest government update puts the brakes on Scottish Ice Hockey

Following the latest update from the Scottish government, Scottish Ice Hockey can confirm that it has put the brakes on a potential return to action.

The previously indicated timeline has now been delayed until 5th October at the earliest due to a rise in COVID-19 cases.

SIH remains in the third phase of its Return to Play plan until this date and we will await guidance from the appropriate authorities before any further decisions or announcements are made.

We will continue to follow government advice to protect the safety of our community and work with UK Active to ensure that we are adhering to the appropriate industry guidelines.

We acknowledge that this isn’t the development everyone was hoping for, but it is deemed to be the right way forward given the increase in infection rates.
