- · On-ice Practice Structure
Six on-ice stations all run by club coaches. Coaches that are attending will be allocated a station for the morning. Players will be split into six groups mixed with players from different clubs.
Station 1 – Skating
Station 2 – Game Situations
Station 3 – Stick-handling
Station 4 – Passing
Station 5 – Game
Station 6 – Shooting
Stations will last 12 minutes each. After each station players will be allowed a water break for one minute before moving on to the next station.
All coaches that confirm their attendance will receive the link to the LTP manual if they provide an email address.
- · Ice Cut/Rest
This will be an opportunity for the Lead Coaches to provide feedback on the session to all on-ice coaches.
Players get a rest and will be allocated teams for the cross-ice jamboree.
- · Cross-Ice Jamboree
Teams are mixed so that players play with kids from different clubs. Players will be put into lines and all lines will change every ninety seconds. Games will last approximately 12 minutes depending on number of teams. All teams will play each other at least once.
The games will be played using the multi-puck system. When a goal is scored a new puck is put into play by the official. Scores will not be kept and there will be no penalties unless a player is constantly breaking the rules. Coaches will be asked to manage the teams and officiate the games on a rotational basis so everyone experiences each role.
