A new sponsorship deal proved to be a lucky charm for Solway Stingrays last weekend as they faced Kilmarnock Thunder in the SNL.
Local businessman Stevie Wight supplied the team with a complete set of new playing shirts which they wore for the first time against Thunder at Dumfries Ice Bowl.
The electrical and air conditioning contractor was on hand to witness the Stingrays run out comfortable 16-4 winners and move themselves up to sixth in the standings.
Club Chair Leanne Thomson admitted the Stingrays were delighted to be the beneficiaries of Wight’s generosity.
“We are extremely grateful to Stevie for coming on board as the Stingrays shirt sponsor,” she said.
“It makes a huge difference to a small club like ours when we manage to secure a great local business who is happy to support us with a generous donation like this.
“The shirts look great and hopefully it won’t be long until the boys secure another win while wearing them.”
