Martin Cingel has urged Murrayfield Racers not to take their foot off the gas as they try and claim the Scottish National League title this weekend.
The Racers travel to North Ayrshire Wild on Saturday before visiting Solway Stingrays the following day knowing that three points will guarantee them top spot this season.
The Edinburgh-based club remain unbeaten in Scottish competitions this term, but Cingel insists that that the team will not be taking anything for granted.
“North Ayrshire have given us some really tough games this season and we need to be ready,” he said. “No-one will give us anything for free and we know that.
“The same applies to Sunday’s game. Solway might not be the strongest team this year, but we can’t afford anything less that 100 percent effort.
“However, we are confident that we can win the league trophy this weekend.”
Christian Johnson believes Aberdeen Lynx’s difficult end to the league season will set them up nicely for upcoming games in the play-offs and Scottish Cup.
Aberdeen have been beaten by Paisley Pirates and Murrayfield during February and things don’t get any easier over the next couple of weeks.
The Granite City side host Kirkcaldy Kestrels on Saturday, before visiting Dundee Comets in their final regular season match next weekend, and Johnson is eager for Lynx to show they can compete with the league’s top teams.
“Although we are in the middle of a series of tough games, we want to keep pushing hard in the last few matches of the season which will lead us into the play-offs,” he told Evening Express Sport.
“Having a good run will set us up well for these all-important matches as well as the Scottish Cup.
“The Kestrels are having one of their best seasons so they will be formidable opponents this weekend in Aberdeen.
“However, we have a great team and our performances have improved in recent months.”
