SNL preview: Play-offs in focus as top sides battle to book Final Four spot

Dundee Comets continue their SNL treble chase on Sunday as they face Dundee Tigers in the second leg of their play-off quarter-final tie.

Goals from Daniel Topping (2), John Gordon (2), Ross Johnston (2), Kris Phillips (2), Cameron McGiffin, Michal Beca, Sam McCluskey and John Dolan gave the Comets a 12-1 victory in their first meeting last weekend.

If the Comets safely navigate the reverse fixture they will face the winners of the Aberdeen Lynx versus Edinburgh Capitals SNL tie at the Play-off Finals Weekend to be held at Fife Ice Arena on 7/8th April.

Those two sides meet in Aberdeen on Saturday, with the return game scheduled at Murrayfield the following day.

Edinburgh have won both meetings with the Granite City side this season and head into the tie on the back of a nine game winning run.

Joel Gautschi (3) and Aaron Robertson got the goals as the Capitals secured a 4-3 victory at Aberdeen last weekend and Martin Cingel’s side will fancy their chances of progressing to the final four showdown at Fife.

Last year’s losing play-off finalists Paisley Pirates begin their quest for redemption as they face Moray Typhoons over two legs this weekend.

Paisley recorded 7-1 and 11-1 victories over Moray during the regular league season and they will be confident of booking their place in the semi-finals.

The winners of that tie will face either Kirkcaldy Kestrels or Kilmarnock Storm in the last four, although the former look in good shape to qualify.

Kirkcaldy recorded an 8-1 road win last weekend to set themselves up nicely for Sunday’s second leg.
