SNL preview: Reigning champions hoping to regain top spot

Dundee Comets visit Aberdeen Lynx on Saturday aiming to move back to the top of the Scottish National League (SNL).

The reigning champions head into the game two points behind leaders Paisley Pirates with a game in hand.

The two sides faced each other twice in the Stuart Robertson Cup earlier in the season, with the Comets winning 4-3 on home ice and 6-4 on the road.

This weekend’s other league game is on Sunday as Kirkcaldy Kestrels travel to Dumfries Ice Bowl to face Solway Stringrays.

Kirkcaldy recorded a 21-7 aggregate victory over Solway in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup back in November and they will be eager to end 2018 with another win.

Murrayfield Racers head to Dundee Tigers in the Stuart Robertson Cup on Saturday hoping to book their place in the final of the competition.

The Racers won the reverse fixture 12-0 during September and will be confident of clinching top spot in the eastern group.

Kirkcaldy and Murrayfield will also play exhibition games against Team USA Military over the weekend, with the Kestrels in action on Saturday, while the Racers hit the ice on New Year’s Eve.
