SNL round-up: Double delight for the Racers with victories in league and cup

Murrayfield Racers enjoyed a successful time of things on two fronts over the weekend to boost their hopes of winning silverware this season.

The Racers visited Paisley Pirates on Saturday and maintained their unbeaten SNL record with a narrow 4-3 victory – Sean Donaldson, Michael Ireland, Aaron Robertson and Callum Boyd got their goals. The result leaves them two points off top spot with two games in hand.

Joel Gautschi was the star of the show the following day, with his hat-trick the highlight of an impressive 6-0 home win over Kirkcaldy Kestrels in the first leg of their Scottish Cup semi-final tie.

Dundee Comets edged two points clear at the top of the league table courtesy of a comfortable 15-2 home success against Dundee Tigers – Sam McCluskey (3) topped their scoring.

Aberdeen Lynx secured their third league victory in a row with a comfortable 14-5 home win against Kilmarnock Thunder – Mark Laing (4) and Christian Johnson (4) were amongst the scorers.

North Ayrshire Wild recorded their first win since mid-December with a hard-fought 8-5 success at Solway Stingrays.
