SNL round-up: Dundee Comets start their league campaign with a bang

Dundee Comets made the perfect to start to the defence of their Scottish National League (SNL) title with two comfortable victories over the weekend.

Comets opened up their league campaign with a 9-4 home win over North Ayrshire Wild and they followed up with a 12-0 success at Solway Stingrays.

North Ayrshire bounced back from their defeat by securing a 4-4 draw at Paisley Pirates in the Stuart Robertson Cup.

A victory in next Saturday’s reverse fixture would secure top spot for Wild in the western group.

Robin Floyd and Scott Jamieson both hit hat-tricks as Kirkcaldy Kestrels beat Dundee Tigers 13-0 in the eastern section.

Goals by Adrian Palak, Ben Morgan and Milan Kolena condemned Murrayfield Racers to a 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Steeldogs in the NIHL North Cup.
