SNL round-up: Kestrels fly high against Wild to take control of play-off tie

Kirkcaldy Kestrels are in pole position to reach the Final Four Weekend at Dundee after building up a healthy advantage over North Ayrshire Wild in their SNL play-off quarter-final tie.

Robin Floyd (3), Garry Simpson (2), Caly Robertson (2) and Graeme Allan got the goals as the Kestrels claimed an 8-4 home victory over the visitors. The return leg is scheduled for Sunday, 24th March.

Murrayfield Racers celebrated being presented with the Scottish National League trophy with an 8-1 victory over Kilmarnock Thunder – Ross Borwick (2), Michael Ireland (2) and Martin Cingel (2) topped the scoring for the home side.

The Racers will meet Solway Stingrays in their last eight play-off fixture a week on Sunday at Murrayfield Ice Rink. The tie is a one-off game due to ice time restrictions elsewhere.

Dundee Comets completed their regular season fixtures with a comfortable 9-3 victory at Dundee Tigers. The Comets travel to face Aberdeen Lynx in the first leg of their quarter-final tie on Saturday, 16th March, with the reverse fixture scheduled for the following day.

The remaining play-off tie features the Tigers and Paisley Pirates. The first leg will be played this coming Saturday, with the return leg taking place on 24th March.
