Murrayfield Racers moved to the top of the Scottish National League standings after recording two contrasting victories over the weekend.
The Racers were comfortable 13-3 winners at Kilmarnock Thunder on Saturday, but they were pushed much closer by Aberdeen Lynx the following day.
Joel Gautschi (2), Ross Borwick, Rihards Grigors and Patriks Grigors got the goals as Murrayfield secured a 5-4 home success.
Garry Simpson (2) topped the scoring for Kirkcaldy Kestrels in their impressive 8-5 home win against reigning champions Dundee Comets.
Those results left Murrayfield two points ahead of Kirkcaldy with a game in hand. Two victories from their remaining three games would guarantee the title for the Racers.
Paisley Pirates are third in the table after recording a comprehensive 21-1 victory at home to Solway Stingrays.
Bruce Tait (2) and Jack Henderson were on target for Dundee Tigers as they ran out 3-1 winners on home ice against North Ayrshire Wild.
