North Ayrshire Wild have capped off a busy week of signings by confirming that Scott Cowan will be the club’s player/coach this season.
The 37-year-old returns to Wild after spending the majority of the last couple of years with Kilmarnock Storm.
It will be his second stint in charge on Wild after undertaking the same role during the 2013/14 season.
He said: “Wild are planning for a successful season this year and aim to be at the other end of the league table.
“We’ve had a strong off-season recruiting some new players and attracting back some key veterans to the club. We now have a vast mix of experience and skill to blend with the young existing squad who are all excited to get the new season underway.
“We have more players than there are spaces on the bench, so all the boys know they have to earn their name being put on the game sheet every week.
“Everyone knows I’ve been with Wild before and as player/coach I’m even more motivated than ever to get the most out of our experienced players and to develop our younger guys to make sure everyone is wary of facing our team this year.
“I’ve worked hard as a player during the off-season and I’m determined to prove that I can still be a leader and provide offense in a younger and faster SNL.
“The aim will be to challenge some of the established teams for silverware this season.”
