SNL round-up: Paisley clinch play-off title in style at Dundee

Paisley Pirates claimed the SNL play-off title after recording two victories at Dundee Ice Arena over the weekend.

The Pirates edged through their semi-final by a single goal margin, defeating Kirkcaldy Kestrels 4-3 – Adam Walker (2) and Daniel Abercrombie (2) got the goals, with George Pitcaithly, Garry Simpson and Robin Floyd replying for the Kestrels.

Murrayfield progressed to the final courtesy of a 4-3 win against Dundee Comets – Callum Boyd (2), Rihards Grigors and Aaron Robertson got their goals. Michal Beca, John Gordon and Sam McCluskey replied for Dundee.

Paisley never looked in danger of losing the final as they cruised to a comfortable 5-0 victory – Walker (2) and Abercrombie were on the scoresheet again, with Martyn Guy and Chris Turley completing the scoring.

Murrayfield will now turn their attentions to the final of the Stuart Robertson Cup, with their two-legged tie against North Aysrshire Wild scheduled for Easter weekend.

The SNL season will be completed with the Scottish Cup final, with the Racers set to face either the Comets or Aberdeen Lynx on Saturday, 11th May.
