Solway Stingrays have withdrawn from the Scottish National League (SNL) for the 2019/20 season.
The team had a difficult time of things last term, winning just twice in the league to finish eighth in the standings.
With player numbers low and many unable to commit for next season the club is hoping that a year away from the SNL will allow the Stingrays to regroup and give them the opportunity to build up their roster ahead of a possible return to the league in the future.
SIH Chairman David Hand said: “Obviously it’s disappointing to lose any team from the SNL and we are sorry to see the Stingrays leave.
“However, the door remains open and hopefully they will be able to come back into the fold at some point with a much stronger roster.
“We would like to thank Solway for communicating their intentions early and giving us the opportunity to properly formulate our plans for next season.”
