The Women’s Section is the newest and one of the fastest-growing parts of Scottish Ice Hockey — and it represents an exciting new chapter for the sport in Scotland.

Established to provide a clear identity, structure and pathway for women and girls in the game, the section is already seeing strong momentum. More dedicated women’s teams are being registered, participation numbers are rising, and new opportunities are opening up at club and representative levels.

This growth reflects both the increasing visibility of women’s sport across the UK and the passion within Scotland’s hockey community to create sustainable, competitive environments for female players. From those stepping onto the ice for the first time, to experienced players returning to the game, the Women’s Section is building a platform where everyone can develop, compete and belong.

With new clubs forming, stronger pathways emerging and continued collaboration across the sport, the future of women’s ice hockey in Scotland is bright — and this is just the beginning.
