Kirkcaldy Kestrels have confirmed that Daryl Venters will combine a playing and coaching role for the remainder of the 2019/20 season.
The 40-year-old has been working as the club’s assistant coach, but following a successful return to the ice against Aberdeen Lynx on Saturday he has decided to resume his playing career.
Venters brings a wealth of experience to the Kestrels’ roster having iced extensively for Fife Flyers during their time in the British National League.
He was also a regular fixture for the Kestrels in the Scottish National League (SNL), before hanging up his skates in 2016.
An impressive performance against Lynx over the weekend convinced Venters to return to the ice on a permanent basis and he is expected to be in the line-up when the Kestrels face Paisley Pirates on October 20th.
