SNL round-up: Tigers strengthen defensive unit, Sharks get busy

Dundee Tigers have added Craig Findlay to their defensive ranks for the 2019/20 season.

The 27-year-old spent the last three seasons with Aberdeen Lynx having previously iced for Dundee Comets.

Tigers’ player/coach Grant Reekie says he is delighted to have Findlay on board next term.

“He’s always a standout player in my eyes with his ability to be so composed under pressure and great vision,” said Reekie.

“He has the ability to pick out passes from anywhere on the ice which will help both our breakout and our attack. He’s also strong defensively so we’ve picked up a quality and versatile ‘D’ man.

“Combined with the other new signings we have made this summer he really gives us a lot more depth than we’ve had the last few years, so I’m really looking forward to the season ahead.”

Solway Sharks have had a busy week as they continue to build for the upcoming campaign.

Forward Ruairi Lockerbie has been added to the club’s senior roster after impressing with Solway’s U20 team last term.

Netminder Gary Russell returns to the club after four seasons in the Elite League with Glasgow Clan, while fellow goalie Kyle Johnston has agreed another year with the Dumfries-based outfit.

Dundee Comets have boosted their forward options after confirming the signing of Aaron Robertson. The 21-year-old bagged 40 points in 16 league appearances for Murrayfield Racers last season.
