Kirkcaldy Kestrels strengthen their roster ahead of league opener

Kirkcaldy Kestrels have strengthened their roster with the addition of two more players for the 2019/20 season.

Forward Robbie Summers returns to the club after a year away from the sport, while ‘D’ man Ethan Meldrum will split his time between the Kestrels and the Fife Falcons U20 team.

Summers iced for Aberdeen Lynx during the 2017/18 campaign, having previously played for the Kestrels, Dundee Comets, Blackburn Hawks and Fife Flyers.

The 26-year-old also had a spell in Canada as a junior and represented Scotland at the annual Conference Weekend.

Meldrum has been part of the Falcons’ success at U20 level over the past few seasons, helping the team win numerous trophies.

The youngster will continue his development with the U20 side in addition to being given opportunities in the Scottish National League.

The pair are likely to be in the line-up as the Kestrels host Solway Sharks in their first league match of the new campaign on Sunday.
