Kirkcaldy Kestrels coach Steven King has called on his players to start putting a run of results together if they are to have a chance of retaining their SNL crown.
The men from Fife have a date with the league leaders for the second week in a row and after taking on Aberdeen Lynx last week, it’s Dundee Tigers who make the trip to Dundee Ice Arena.
And King insists defeat would mean the end of his side’s chances of another title tilt, despite a run of six losses from their last seven in the league.
“We had a poor result against Aberdeen last weekend, but if I’m honest, they pushed the hardest and deserved the victory,” he said.
“We really need to turn it around and start putting together some wins here. We really can’t be so inconsistent and start putting a run together to have any chance of retaining our title.
“Our form is not how you win leagues so we need to buckle down. We need our top guys to do what they do best, but we also need secondary scoring from everybody.

“There are plenty of games to play so I wouldn’t say it’s the end of the line for us if we were to lose to Dundee Tigers.
“It’s about putting wins together and after a good weekend at training, it’s about playing for the full 60 minutes and we have to find a way of doing that.”
Kestrels added to their ranks on Friday with the signing of forward Richard Krogh, who previously played with Fife Flyers and Guildford Flames in the Elite League.
He’s expected to go straight into action against Tigers, who went top of the table on Sunday despite going down 2-1 to local rivals Dundee Comets in overtime, with the extra point taking them above Lynx.
Victory would give Richard Phillips’ side a ten-point lead over the Kestrels as they look for a second success in Kirkcaldy this season.
Keeping a close eye on this one will be Aberdeen Lynx, who will take on Kilmarnock Thunder in front of a sell-out crowd at the Linx Ice Centre.

It’s nine wins in ten for Jordan Leyden’s side and with Thunder coming on the back of five straight losses, including a thumping 14-2 loss at Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup last month, just improving on that result would be a positive.
On Sunday, it’s third versus fourth as Paisley Pirates play host to Dundee Comets, with either team keen to close the gap on the top two.
Both sides picked up wins last weekend and with Comets having won when these two met in Dundee at the start of October, an interesting night awaits for both sides.
Edinburgh Capitals return to SNL action on Sunday when they host bottom side North Ayrshire Wild, keen to ride the wave of positivity after winning the Northern Challenge Cup last weekend.
In terms of games, the Caps are running behind so getting the points is a must against the side they defeated 8-1 at Auchenharvie two weeks ago.
Wild still have only one win to their name in what’s been a tough campaign for them, but a victory in Murrayfield would be massive for them.
