Aberdeen Lynx player-coach Jordan Leyden insists they want to keep their momentum going after being restored to the top of the SNL standings last week.
Lynx’s heavy win over Kilmarnock Thunder coupled with Dundee Tigers’ penalty shots loss at Kirkcaldy Kestrels saw them return to their lofty perch on head-to-head record.
And while Leyden is enjoying the closeness of the campaign, he knows there’s plenty of games and minutes to play.
“This Saturday against North Ayrshire Wild is another big one for us and we just want to keep the momentum going from previous games,” he said.
“They got the better of us in the play-off last year so we’re looking to rectify that and after getting a good result against them at home recently, it’s keeping that good run going.

“Looking at the top, it’s really close with Tigers right behind us, but there are other teams behind them looking to push.
“The parity in the league is great to see and it’s going to be a long season with the hell of a lot to play for.”
Lynx’s big win last week made it four in a row and eight victories from their last nine in the league ahead of Saturday’s trip to Auchenharvie where Wild coach Domenico De Simone is still looking for a first win.
Their 5-3 loss at Edinburgh Capitals was more respectable from their point of view after recent results, but few would bet against Aberdeen taking the points away from Wild at this stage.
Elsewhere in Ayrshire, Dundee Comets are back on the road looking to bounce back from their loss at Paisley Pirates as they head to Kilmarnock Thunder.
Richard Hartmann’s side will be hoping for dropped points by either Lynx or Tigers as they look to close the four-point gap between them and the top two, but Thunder, while having the leakiest defence, will have other ideas.

Elsewhere, Edinburgh Capitals will be out to keep their recent run of form going when Dundee Tigers visit Murrayfield for the first time this season.
Caps coach Steven Lynch was happy with the result over Wild last week, but not so much the performance and will be looking for improvement against the Tigers, who have ideas of being back on top.
It’s the first of a double header for them and North Ayrshire Wild, who will meet on Sunday in Dundee with double points up for grabs.
The final game of the weekend is a battle between fourth and fifth as Kirkcaldy Kestrels and Paisley Pirates meet in Fife with both clubs keen to get back among it as title contenders.
Big wins for both last week mean they come into this in good spirits and sets the scene for a fascinating clash ahead.
