Kirkcaldy Kestrels have boosted their roster for the upcoming Scottish National League (SNL) campaign with the addition of three hugely experienced players.
Chris Wands, Jamie Wilson and Tommy Muir have all agreed to join the Kestrels as the club bids to build on last season’s third place finish.
Wands has spent the last 15 seasons with Fife Flyers, having originally joined the club back in their British National League and Northern League days.
The defenceman has been a permanent fixture with Fife following their move to the Elite League in 2011, icing in almost 450 games in the UK’s top flight.
Wilson returns to action this season after a year away from the sport. He played for the Kestrels in 2017/18, having previously iced extensively for the Flyers.
The forward made over 350 appearances for Fife in the EIHL and his experience will prove invaluable to the Kestrels this season.
Muir is also returning to ice hockey after a year out of the game. The ‘D’ man made nearly 450 appearances in the EIHL and will be a key figure on the Kestrels’ blueline this term.
Elsewhere in the SNL, Aberdeen Lynx have signed Finnish forward Mark Simanovski. The 24-year-old previously iced for the Vikingit organisation in his homeland.
Lynx have also signed forward Keir Anderson from Kilmanock Thunder.
Belfast Giants SNL have confirmed Adam Robinson, Steven McMillen, Phil McMaster, Ryan Dick, Stephen Eccles and Ross Hancock as their first six signings for the new season.
Ross Andreucci has agreed a second year with Paisley Pirates.
