VACANCY:   Operations Manager – Leagues and Discipline for Scottish Ice Hockey

An exciting opportunity awaits for an Operations Manager to join Scottish Ice Hockey, overseeing the efficient management of leagues and discipline processes. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of hockey leagues and upholding disciplinary standards within the Scottish ice hockey community. 

Responsibilities: 

  • League Management: Oversee the administration and logistics of ice hockey leagues, including scheduling, venue coordination, and communication with participating teams.
  • Discipline Oversight: Manage the disciplinary aspects of the leagues, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules. Coordinate with officials, review incidents, and implement appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary.
  • Rules and Regulations: Stay abreast of league rules and regulations, implementing any changes and ensuring that all participating teams and players are informed and compliant.
  • Communication Hub: Act as a central point of contact for teams, officials, and relevant stakeholders, providing clear and timely communication on league schedules, disciplinary matters, and rule updates
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of league standings, player statistics, and disciplinary actions. Utilise data to generate reports and provide insights for continuous improvement.
  • Event Coordination: Collaborate with teams and venues to plan and coordinate league events, including playoffs and championships. Manage logistics, schedules, and venue requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with league officials, team representatives, and other stakeholders to foster positive relationships and address concerns or inquiries promptly.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and manage budgets related to league operations. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial efficiency. 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of ice hockey rules, regulations, and league operations.
  • Previous experience in sports management or a related field is advantageous.

Time Commitment: 

  • This is a voluntary position with occasional evening and weekend commitments, especially during peak league seasons and events.
