Exciting opportunity to join Scottish Ice Hockey as an Operations Manager for the National Development Program. This pivotal role involves overseeing and optimising the day-to-day operations, including administrative tasks, to ensure the smooth functioning of the program dedicated to nurturing and advancing the talents of aspiring ice hockey players.
Responsibilities:
- Program Logistics: Manage the logistical aspects of the National Development Program, including scheduling, travel arrangements, and facility coordination for practices, games, and events.
- Player Development Support: Collaborate with coaching staff to facilitate player development initiatives. Ensure that resources and support are in place for the effective execution of training programs.
- Budget Management: Work with the finance team to develop and manage the budget for the National Development Program. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial efficiency.
- Communication Hub: Act as a central point of contact for players, coaches, and parents, providing clear and timely communication on schedules, program updates, and relevant information. Manage email correspondence, phone calls, and administrative systems.
- Tournament and Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate the participation of the National Development Program in tournaments and events, both nationally and internationally. Manage logistics, travel arrangements, and on-site coordination.
- Equipment and Resources: Oversee the procurement and maintenance of equipment and resources necessary for the program, ensuring players have access to high-quality gear and facilities.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with key stakeholders, including coaches, players, parents, and external partners, to foster positive relationships and enhance the overall success of the National Development Program.
- Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks such as maintaining player records, organising paperwork, and managing program documentation.
Qualifications:
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of player development in ice hockey is advantageous.
- Previous experience in sports management or a related field, including administration, is desirable.
Time Commitment:
- This is a voluntary position with occasional evening and weekend commitments, especially during tournaments and events. Flexibility is required to accommodate the dynamic nature of sports programs.
