We’re excited to announce that Scottish Ice Hockey will be hosting a series of junior national games against teams from England Ice Hockey at the Dumfries Ice Bowl in June. The event will take place across two weekends and feature five age groups, offering a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talent from both sides of the border.
Jamie Thomson, Head of Scottish Ice Hockey, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “Our working relationship with English Ice Hockey has never been stronger, allowing us to create more events to showcase the talent from both sides of the border for the GB coaches. Both associations are fully committed to working together, ensuring the pathway to the Great Britain Squads is stronger than ever.”
Building on the success of last year’s national event in Dumfries, the decision to expand the event to cover all age groups was an easy one to make. The players, coaches, and staff have been working tirelessly over the past six months to prepare the squads, and the competition against the tough challenge from Team England promises to be an exciting one.

Scottish Ice Hockey is constantly exploring ways to provide its athletes with more ice time and opportunities to compete at the highest possible level. Events like these junior national games and the EIH showcase are crucial steps forward in their development, and the organisation will continue to develop new formats and opportunities as they progress.
Thomson extended his gratitude to all those who have contributed to making these events a success: “On behalf of Scottish Ice Hockey, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all the coaches, managers, board members, players, and, of course, parents on both sides for helping make these events the success they are. It is a lot of work and a huge commitment, and it’s very much appreciated.”
Tickets for the junior national games are now on sale online, and can be purchased as day tickets or weekend tickets. For the U9 age group, which will be playing just one game, single-game tickets are available.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the games, supporting these talented young athletes as they represent their respective nations.
