Edmonds praises Scotland U11 side’s work ethic and improvement

Scotland U11 head coach Dave Edmonds wants his players to go out and enjoy themselves at this weekend’s Conference event.

The U11 side will join their counterparts at U13, U15 and U17 level at iceSheffield to face four English conference teams – Northern, Midlands, South East and South West.

Each age group is a five-team round robin, with the top two sides in each group progressing to finals on the Monday.

Last year’s squad lost all four games at the event, although they were competitive in each one and improved as the tournament progressed.

Edmonds says the current roster have built up a great camaraderie and he believes they will represent their country with pride this weekend.

“We are looking forward to Conference Weekend this year,” he said. “We have a very enthusiastic squad and they have bonded very well.

“The kids have been working hard at our get together weekends and the improvement have been great to watch.

“Whatever happens I know the players will give us all they have to give and that is all you can ask.”

The four-day event takes place from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th May.

The weekend begins with a Scotland versus England U19 international on the first day, with the Conference games starting early on Saturday.
