Kirkcaldy Kestrels have added two vastly experienced players to their roster as they bid to bounce back from a tough start to the new season.
Steven Lynch and Chad Reekie will return to competitive action this term to bring their know-how to the Kestrels’ dressing room.
Lynch previously iced extensively in the British National League and Elite League, in addition to representing Great Britain at junior level.
He enjoyed prolific spells with the likes of Fife Flyers, Paisley Pirates and Edinburgh Capitals, and the Kestrels will be hoping he has retained his scoring touch on his return to the ice.
Reekie also boasts plenty of experience, having previously played in the BNL, EIHL, English Premier League and Northern League.
The 33-year-old also represented GB at junior level and will add further depth to the team’s defensive unit.
It has been a difficult opening to the new campaign for the Kestrels after losing their first fixtures in both the Stuart Robertson Cup (SRC) and Scottish National League (SNL).
They will hope for better fortunes on Saturday as they welcome Dundee Comets to Fife Ice Arena in the SRC.
The Comets won their first match in the northern group, but crashed heavily at Solway Sharks in the league last weekend.
There is one other SRC fixture on Saturday as Kilmarnock Thunder host North Ayrshire Wild, while Dundee Tigers face Murrayfield Racers in the league the following day.
Kilmarnock Thunder v North Ayrshire Wild – SRC South
Kirkcaldy Kestrels v Dundee Comets – SRC North
Dundee Tigers v Murrayfield Racers – SNL
