SNL round-up: Bowie fires Sharks to another win, Lynx edge out the Tigers

Solway Sharks maintained their unbeaten record in the NIHL North Cup with a 5-4 home victory over Murrayfield Racers.

The Sharks led 4-1 at the end of the second period, but the Racers roared back to make it 4-4 by the 55-minute mark.

However, Iain Bowie’s goal six seconds from the end of the game secured the points for the Dumfries-based outfit.

The Racers were also out of luck on home ice the following day as Billingham Stars eased to a 6-2 win – Joel Gautschi and Callum Boyd were on target for the SNL side.

Dundee Comets remain at the bottom of the five-team group after losing 11-4 at Whitley Warriors.

In the SNL, Aberdeen Lynx secured a 4-3 victory at Dundee Tigers – Christian Johnson scored the decisive goal in the penalty shoot-out.

North Ayrshire Wild cruised to a 24-3 success at Kilmarnock Thunder, while Kirkcaldy Kestrels lost 6-3 at home to Paisley Pirates.
