Top-of-the-Table Double Header: Capitals vs Rockets

The Edinburgh Capitals and Dundee Rockets face each other twice this weekend in a crucial home-and-away double header — with four points up for grabs.

Both sides have played six games so far. The Capitals remain unbeaten and sit top of the table on 12 points, while the Rockets are fifth with 10 points, having suffered only one defeat — against the Aberdeen Lynx.

Each team brings experience, depth, and strong goaltending, making for two closely matched contests. With one game apiece on home ice, and both playing back-to-back, stamina and discipline could prove decisive as the Rockets look to end the Capitals’ perfect run.

Sharks Return Home to Face Wild

The Solway Sharks return to the Dumfries Ice Bowl on Saturday as they host North Ayrshire Wild.

The sides met just two weeks ago, when Solway edged a narrow 3–2 win at Auchenharvie Ice Rink. With only two points separating them in the standings, another close battle is expected. A victory for either team would help close the gap to the middle of the table and build valuable momentum heading into November.

Warriors Host Thunder

The Whitley Warriors welcome Kilmarnock Thunder to Hillheads on Saturday for their first meeting of the season.

Thunder are still chasing their first win but found some positives last week, putting three goals past Dundee’s netminder. The Warriors, who slipped to second place after defeat to the Capitals, will be keen to respond strongly at home and keep pressure on the top spot.

Double Duty for the Lynx

It’s a double-header weekend for the Aberdeen Lynx, who play both home and away.

On Saturday, they host the Kirkcaldy Kestrels at Linx Ice Arena. It’s the first meeting between the sides this season, with the Kestrels just two points behind Aberdeen in the standings. It’s expected to be a fast-paced game, and both sides will need to stay disciplined to avoid time on the penalty kill.

On Sunday, the Lynx travel to Braehead to take on the Paisley Pirates. The two sides met earlier in the season, when Aberdeen edged a 4–3 win. This one is expected to be a physical encounter, with both teams familiar with each other’s style. The Pirates currently sit two points ahead, but the Lynx have three games in hand — setting the stage for another intense matchup.

With three teams having the opportunity to collect four points this weekend, the SNL table could once again look very different by Sunday night as the race for early-season positioning continues to heat up.
