A sold-out Linx Ice Arena hosted one of the weekend’s standout fixtures as Aberdeen Lynx edged Dundee Rockets 3–2. The teams were closely matched throughout, exchanging goals before the Lynx pulled ahead in the final period. Goaltender Rory Wood was in excellent form, making several key saves — including during a late Rockets power play — to help secure the win.
In Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Capitals brought an end to Whitley Warriors’ unbeaten run, handing the English side their first loss of the season. After a scoreless opening period, the game opened up in the second as both teams traded power play goals — Chad Smith striking first for the Capitals before Harry Harley replied for Whitley. However, a run of penalties proved costly for the Warriors as the Capitals struck twice more to take a 3–1 lead into the final period, a scoreline that held firm as Edinburgh continued their flawless start to the campaign.
Solway Sharks claimed their first win of the season with a 3–2 victory away to North Ayrshire Wild. Rocco Murray opened the scoring for Wild before Struan Tanner levelled for Solway. The sides exchanged goals again in the second, but it was Bailey Thomson’s finish that sealed the points for the Sharks in a closely fought encounter at Auchenharvie.

Paisley Pirates were on the road for a double-header weekend, opening with a comfortable 9–3 win away to Kilmarnock Thunder on Saturday. On Sunday, they made the trip south to face Whitley Warriors in what proved to be a hard-fought contest. The hosts struck twice early, but the Pirates responded through Ryan Parkin to stay in touch. Craig Peacock narrowed the gap further with a power play goal before Whitley regained control in the closing stages to secure a 5–2 victory. The weekend’s results see Paisley move up a place in the standings, overtaking the Rockets, who have played fewer games.
Kirkcaldy Kestrels were also in action on Sunday, recording an emphatic 18–0 win over Kilmarnock. The result moved them level on points with the Capitals and, with some teams yet to meet this season, goal difference currently serves as the deciding factor — putting the Kestrels into third place for now.
Whitley remain top of the table despite suffering their first loss of the season, while Aberdeen stay firm in second after their win against the Rockets. The Kestrels move into third, the Capitals drop to fourth, and the Pirates climb a spot to overtake the Rockets — though Dundee have played the fewest games so far. Solway move up a place after their first win, sitting alongside North Ayrshire on two points, while Kilmarnock remain at the foot of the table still chasing their first victory.
It’s heating up, and the fight for the title is already shaping up to be a tight one.
