The Edinburgh Capitals Academy U19s represent the final stage of our junior development pathway, preparing players for the transition into senior ice hockey.

At U19 level, the expectations increase. Players are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their own development, bringing commitment, discipline, work rate and a competitive attitude to every training session and game.

Training focuses on developing the speed, strength, skill, tactical awareness and decision-making required for senior hockey, while continuing to build strong team values both on and off the ice.

With the connection between the Academy and the Edinburgh Capitals senior team, U19 players have a clear pathway to progress. Those demonstrating the required ability, attitude and commitment can earn opportunities to train and develop within the senior environment.

Our aim is to prepare players not simply to compete at U19 level, but to be ready for the next step in their hockey journey.
