Ice Hockey UK is proud to announce that Braehead Arena will host the IIHF European Cup of Nations in February 2027 in another landmark moment for British ice hockey.
For the first time, both the Great Britain Men’s and Great Britain Women’s national teams will compete on home ice in the same setting in a competitive environment – a historic Festival of Hockey with elite competition, fan-activations and family-fun all taking place across the four-day spectacle.
Twelve matches will take place across four days from Thursday 11th to Sunday 14th February 2027. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 2nd November 2026.
Great Britain Men will face-off against Poland, Romania and Lithuania as the squad looks to build on a memorable return to Scottish soil in IIHF European Cup of Nations back in February at the Murrayfield Ice Rink in Edinburgh.
Over the same dates, Great Britain Women will take-on the Netherlands, Slovenia and Spain as the women’s side makes its own mark on home ice in a competitive setting.
The event is a significant step forward for the growth of the game in the UK, giving fans the chance to see both national teams in action on home soil and showcasing the depth of British ice hockey at both senior levels.
It is also a product of the Together As One merger, which continues to deliver historic and truly collaborative moments such as this — bringing the sport together under one banner and one ambition.
Tim Bratton, Interim CEO of Ice Hockey UK, said: “Hosting the IIHF European Cup of Nations at Braehead Arena is a proud moment for British ice hockey.
“To have both our men’s and women’s national teams competing on home ice, together, for the first time in a competitive environment, is genuinely historic.
“This is exactly the kind of moment the merger was built to deliver – bringing our sport together, supporting the rise of both the men’s and women’s game, and giving fans the chance to see their national teams on home soil.
“We look forward to welcoming the competing nations and our passionate fanbase to Glasgow.”
Russell Smith, CEO at Braehead Arena, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the IIHF European Cup of Nations to Braehead Arena.
“To host both Great Britain’s men’s and women’s national teams on home ice is a real honour, and will be the perfect follow-up to the Glasgow Clan games taking place at the OVO Hydro.
We’re looking forward to creating a fantastic atmosphere for players and fans alike. This is a landmark event for Scottish ice hockey in Scotland and the City of Glasgow, and we’re proud to play our part in it.”
The full schedule and ticket prices will be announced shortly.
