Kirkcaldy Kestrels bolster their roster with two more forwards

Kirkcaldy Kestrels have strengthened their roster for the upcoming season with the signing of two more forwards.

Scott Jamieson and Robbie Summers return for another year and will be eager to help the team build on their sixth-place finish in the Scottish National League last term.

Jamieson has been a prolific scorer for the Kestrels over the past few years and weighed in with another 16 goals in 13 appearances in all competitions last season.

He also iced with Fife Flyers in the Elite League during the 2019/20 campaign and is keen to put that experience to good use this time around.

“I’m excited to sign with the Kestrels,” said Jamieson. “After speaking to ‘Wish’ (head coach Steven Wishart) and hearing his plans for the season, it was obvious that it was the best fit for me.

“I can’t wait to get going and look forward to challenging for silverware.”

Summers is now in his second spell with the Kestrels having iced elsewhere for the likes of Blackburn Hawks and Aberdeen Lynx.

The 27-year-old, who also spent time in Canada as a junior player, is confident that he can make his mark with the Kestrels this season.

“I’m looking forward to getting back on the ice with the boys – it’s been a long break and I’m excited to be part of a team again,” he said.

“I’ve been working really hard over the summer, so the goalies better watch out for me bringing the heavy heat slap shot!”
