Pair to continue in key roles as SIH transitions to NGB status

Scottish Ice Hockey is delighted to confirm that Jim Paterson and Rab Brown will continue in their respective roles of junior and senior chairs.

Paterson joined the committee in 2019 to help run the junior section and has played a key role in moving the sport forward in Scotland.

Brown took on the role of representing the country’s senior players in 2018 and is a valued member of the off-ice structure for the sport.

The pair will join recently appointed independent directors Pete Cowan, Rhona Brown and Angus Niven in a revised board set-up.

Rhona Anderson, Jim Taylor and John Paterson have stepped down from their respective roles as SIH transitions towards establishing itself as a standalone National Governing Body.

SIH chairman David Hand said: “We’re delighted that the clubs have voted for Jim and Rab to continue in their roles.

“They have been excellent additions to the team and work extremely hard to represent their respective sections.

“We’re looking forward to them building on the foundations they have built and helping SIH deliver a successful 2021/22 season.

“We’re confident that the new board structure will help us achieve our aims as we move into a new era for the sport in Scotland.

“With regards to Rhona, Jim and John, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them for their excellent contribution to SIH.

“They’ve worked tirelessly behind the scenes and should be proud of their efforts. We wish them well for the future.”
