Solway Sharks’ head coach Martin Grubb says he is ‘proud’ of his team’s achievements this season and is already eyeing more success in the future.
The Sharks clinched the Scottish National League (SNL) title with a 100 percent record and finished runners-up in NIHL North (Moralee D1).
Grubb’s side also narrowly missed out on a place in the NIHL North Cup Final as eventually winners Murrayfield Racers edged them out in a thrilling last four tie.
Solway had been hoping to claim more success in the play-offs in both Scotland and England, but the early suspension of the season due to coronavirus denied them the opportunity.
Grubb told the club’s official website: “I know we were all disappointed by the way the season was ended, but we support the decision as people’s health comes first and I hope everyone is staying safe.
“This season is one I’m proud of, especially the way we managed to compete and achieve all we have as a team.
“Our supporters are a tremendously passionate group who have been fantastic both home and away and we were delighted as a team that we got to at least celebrate the SNL trophy with them at our final game.
“I look forward to adding to the young core we have at the club and trying to keep bringing success to the club and town.
“I urge you all to look after yourself and each other and stay safe and I look forward to seeing you all soon.”
