WEEKEND PREVIEW: Three way race for third spot

Three is the magic number this weekend with three league games plus the battle for third place in the table. The Comets are currently only 1 point ahead of the Pirates and Tigers

It’s another Derby game for the two Dundee teams. So far this season they have played three league games against each other with two of them going into over time. The Comets narrowly winning 2 of them, but it’s all to play for tonight.

Dundee Tigers coach Richard Phillips said, “After our narrow defeat on Sunday and the last few games being so close, it’s another game that will be won or lost on fine margins.

We as a team are just taking it one game at a time for the rest of the season. Every team in the league are so closely matched, I’m sure there will be much more twists and turns as the weeks go on.

It just shows how exciting this season has been when you see the number of fans at the games. It’s great to see such good crowds,  especially as we have an Elite team too.”

The Paisley Pirates will be heading to North Ayr to take on North Ayr Wild. Sitting in fourth place in the league and just 1 point behind the Comets they will be looking to bag the two points and overtake the Comets or tie in 3rd with the Tigers.

Aberdeen Lynx and Edinburgh Capitals have another clash this weekend. With both teams having such a big following the atmosphere at Murrayfield this evening is set to be electric.

So far this seasons the two teams have met twice and won 1 game each. There really isn’t anything separating them in the stats with each side having played 22 league games, won 15, lost 4 and drew 3.

The Capitals have been on a winning streak, winning their last 5 SNL games but the Lynx are still 1 point ahead. It’s far too close to predict who will take home the points, but the guaranteed winners will be the fans as it’s sure to be an exciting game!
