Dundee Tigers head coach Richard Phillips says Sunday’s win over Kirkcaldy Kestrels gives them a big boost going into a busy weekend.
Their 5-2 win over the Fife side puts them level on points with Aberdeen Lynx after turning it on in the final ten minutes to secure four points.
And Phillips, not surprisingly, is feeling upbeat as he looks ahead to the challenges to come for his team.
“It was a great win for us and to find ourselves level with Aberdeen Lynx gives a huge boost going into a busy weekend for us,” he said.
“We worked hard to grind out a result against a Kirkcaldy side with dangerous players on their side so the effort shown by my team was great to see.
“The way we found the extra gear in the third period shows the character we have and momentum is definitely with us right now, just in time for the trip to Kilmarnock and the derby with the Comets.”

Kestrels were looking up the table as he arrived in Dundee for their clash with Tigers and were two up in the first thanks to goals from Andy Finlay and Thomas Muir.
However, once the Tigers hit their stride in the third, there was no stopping them as two from Robbie Hill got them level.
The game winner came courtesy of Callum Turnbull with just over seven minutes to go, with John Gordon scoring shorthanded and Daniel Topping making sure late on.
Any hope they had of going themselves at the top of the table were denied by Aberdeen Lynx, who spoiled Edinburgh Capitals’ homecoming party at Murrayfield with a 6-4 success.
Two quickfire goals from Owen Michie then James DeMeo set the tone from Lynx who kept it going in the second period.
Further markers from Jordan Leyden, Ben Edmonds and Gary Kelly really put the dampener on the celebratory feel of Capitals’ return to their home rink after four years away.

However, they weren’t out of things as Alex Christian, Archie Holmes and Joel Gautschi brought Edinburgh to within one in an incredible second period comeback.
Kyle Ferguson’s finish was the one that finally killed the Capitals off in the third, with Holmes claiming his second, but it was all the home side could muster.
It wasn’t all bad for Steven Lynch’s side at the weekend as they began their double header with a thumping 8-1 win over North Ayrshire Wild on Saturday.
Ross Borwick found the net four times to help secure a big win to get them on their way, with further goals coming from Aaron Robertson, Holmes and two from Chad Smith. Lewis Davidson was Wild’s only scorer.
Elsewhere in Ayrshire on Saturday, Paisley Pirates picked another two points on the road as they left Kilmarnock Thunder with an 8-5 victory.
Garry Simpson’s hat-trick helped Pirates to success, with two from his brother, Marty and further finishes coming from Gary Parker, Callum Henderson and Ryan Parkin.
Richard Thorp struck twice for Thunder, with Innes Gallacher, Finlay Anderson and Connor McNulty also finding the net.
