Great Britain had a mixed time of things in their final games in the UK ahead of next month’s World Championship tournament in Slovakia.
GB began their back-to-back series with KHL side Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in Nottingham on Saturday, running out 5-4 winners.
Robert Farmer (3) and Robert Dowd (2) got the goals as GB secured a hard-fought victory.
Pete Russell’s were beaten 5-2 by Torpedo in Sheffield the following day, with the KHL side deservedly gaining their revenge. Mark Richardson and Brett Perlini were on target for GB.
Head coach, Pete Russell, said: “These two games were an excellent test for us and we took a lot from them.
“Obviously there were good and bad points, but playing such a high calibre team was great preparation for us. The squad now has a few days off before we fly to Slovakia to continue our training camp.”
