Affiliated Scottish Ice Hockey clubs will cast their votes this evening on the formation of a new National Governing Body.
SIH has staged a series of consultation events over the last few weeks, where clubs have had their questions answered regarding the proposed future set-up.
A positive vote will see SIH move forward in line with the newly adopted articles, which would then be submitted to sportscotland to establish the NGB.
This will generate new opportunities for the sport and allow for more people to be actively involved in the running and development of Scottish Ice Hockey moving forward.
SIH chairman, David Hand, said: “Tonight’s vote is a real opportunity to move the sport forward to gain National Governing Body status.
“Working closely with our partners at sportscotland, NGB status would open up lots of new doors for us.
“Our member clubs have a chance to make sure we commit to a better future for the whole of Scottish Ice Hockey from tonight and for the foreseeable future.”
