Great Britain U20 fend off Spain to secure penalty shot victory

Great Britain U20 stayed in the hunt for the medals as they beat Spain 4-3 after a thrilling penalty shoot-out in the World Championship (Division 2A) tournament in Vilnius on Friday.

Goals by Alex Graham, Zach Milton and Tyler Cooper put GB 3-0 ahead, but Spain scored three goals in seven minutes to tie the game by the second intermission.

Neither side could find another goal during the final period and the game went to penalty shots after a scoreless extra session.

Netminder Tyler Perre was not beaten by any of the four attempts on him during the shoot-out as GB claimed the victory.

GB play their final game on Sunday when they face Serbia (face-off 10.00am UK time).
